Description
This transceiver enables pilots and installation engineers to customize the VHF communication radios in any aircraft. The ideal combination of output power and low cost, provides the best value and operating characteristics for any particular aircraft an mission profile.
The system is ideally suited for installations where minimun panel space is to be used. It utilizes a small, lightweight CU 5209 control unit, which fits into standard 2 1/4" (57 mm) round instrument panel cut-out, and is only 2 1/2" deep.
Special functions accessible via the front panel allow to adapt a personal set-up. The lightweight remote tranceiver unit, CM 4201 is mated with this control head, to complete the system. It can be installed at any convenient place in the aircraft. The CM 4201 offers 760 channels in the 118.000 MHz to 136.975 MHZ frequency range with channel spacing of 25 kHz, and has an output power of 5 - 7 Watts carrier (16 W PEP) with 99 channel memories.
The remote control VHF transceiver is controlled from a master unit via a RS 232 interface. For truly compact installations, this transceiver can be combined with other Becker primeLine II equipment such
as NAV-VOR/ILS navigation, ADF, and ATC transponder wich have similar control units, providing a pleasant
presentation in the panel. The remote tranceiver unit can be controlled by other types of CDU or FMS devices like a new Becker RMU 5000 (COM-NAV-XPDR/ADF Remote Management Unit), and is ideally suited for use as essencial sensor in flight management systems
