NEW 25 kHz/8.33 kHz DUAL CHANNEL VERSION
Icom UK is pleased to launch their new 25 kHz/8.33 kHz dual channel spacing version of the popular IC-A24 Airband transceiver. This new model provides customers with more channels and the possibility of using both channel spacing frequencies simultaneously.
Cosmetically, the new version of the IC-A24E is identical. However, inside the new version, the electronics have been significantly redesigned to allow 8.33kHz compatibility as well as to improve overall performance. Another noticeable enhancement is that the transmit power has been increased from 3.6W PEP (1.0W CW) to 5.0W PEP (1.5W CW).
The Icom IC-A24E Sport Pack includes radio, antenna, AA battery holder, cigar lighter cable, wrist strap, belt clip and instructions.
Features on the IC-A24 include a channel recall function that allows you to recall the ten most recently used channels with the touch of a button; a dedicated 121.5 MHz emergency key to allow fast and easy access to the emergency channel. The new radio also has the ability to simultaneously charge and operate from an external power source.
Usability is a top priority with a larger alphanumeric LCD display for easier reading. A large, easy to use keypad has been incorporated for fast frequency entry. Both the display and keypad are backlit. In addition the lightweight, rugged unit is water resistant to IPX4.
The unit is supplied with an AA alkaline battery case. Some other key features are; 200 channel memory, allowing entry of frequencies and six letter names for easy identification; side tone, allowing you to hear what you are saying during transmissions; and automatic noise limiting.
50 memories with alphanumeric message capabilities
One-touch selection of the 121.5 MHz emergency frequency
Versatile scanning capabilities including a lockout function
The IC-A24 has VOR navigation functions. The DVOR mode shows the radial to (or from) a VOR station and the CDI mode shows the course deviation to (or from) a VOR station. You can also input your intended radial to (or from) a VOR station and show the course deviation on the display.
DC connector allows operation with a 12 to 15 VDC power source
FET power module provides stable operation at high duty cycles
Rugged die-cast aluminium chassis and polycarbonate casing for extraordinarily rugged use
ANL (Automatic Noise Limiter) function to reduce pulse type noise
Low battery indicator
PLEASE NOTE: THE IC-A6/A24 IS NOW APPROVED FOR USE IN THE AIR
• Dimensions : 54(H) × 129.3(W) × 35.5(D) mm
• Weight : Approx. 180 g (6.35 oz) (Without the battery pack and antenna.)
